How to Interpret Homework "grades" posted in INOW.

Homework in Algebra I Math Team is NOT averaged into a student's grade, but it is VERY IMPORTANT and expected that students complete every assignment in order to get enough practice to learn new concepts.  Homework is due the next day in class AFTER we have gone over any questions students have and they have had a chance to correct their mistakes.  I will work any problems on the board that they ask me about and they can work them with me to correct any errors they have made.  When I receive the paper it should have all problems completed, all work shown, and all mistakes corrected.

Homework "grades" in INOW indicate the following:

1 point:  full credit - everything was completed as described above.

.5 point:  at least half , but not all the problems were completed and corrected with all work shown.

.1 point:  paper turned in, but less than half the problems were completed or only answers were given (no work)  I consider this assignment not done at all.

0 points:  no paper was every turned in

If you look at INOW from a smartphone, grades of .5 and .1 will appear as 0.  If you click on the arrow to the right of the assignment, the correct grade will appear.

Failure to consistently complete daily work will result in detentions and/or Saturday school to get it completed.

Though these grades are not averaged in, there is a direct correlation between the quantity and quality of homework completed with quiz and test scores.  It is imperative that students complete all daily assignments to be successful on quizzes and tests in order to earn the high school credit for Algebra I.
