WELCOME to Algebra I Math Team

As I was heading out the door for the weekend, I realized that I had not posted the answers to the pages in the Summer packet that are not self checking.  To save me some time (sorry!), please go to the "Welcome to Algebra I Math Team" blog from last year, dated 8/5/16.  You will find links to the pages I referred to.  Be sure to read the whole blog as it contains other important information.

I am looking forward to meeting all of you next week as we start a new "growth mindset"  school year.  Enjoy the rest of your vacation, as long as you have completed your summer packet!  See you next Wednesday!

Pizitz Tournament Results

The 8th grade team finished in 6th place, missing 5th place by 11 points.  Our top 4 written test scores were earned by:  Hugh Williams (100.3), Jack Giffin (86), Madelyn Cohn (80), and Hudson Wingo (70).  Our ciphering score was 265, a great improvement from the Berry tournament ciphering score of 140!  Hugh earned a 3rd place individual trophy.  He was one of five students who got a perfect score on the test.  They had to use all of the tie breakers and ciphering scores to determine the final order.

I am very proud of our entire team this year.  You have all shown growth this year and it has been a pleasure for me to help you grow into stronger, more confident mathematicians!
